Dear Parents, In view of the further severe pneumonia epidemic in Wuhan, the fact that the maximum incubation period for infected persons is 14 days, that there has been certain confirmed cases in Hong Kong, the Education Bureau has announced that all schools (including kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and special schools) postpone the Chinese New Year Holiday to 1st March (i.e., class resumption on 2nd March) to protect the health of schoolmates. The deadline for your submitting the $ 2,500 student grant application forms will also be extended to 21st February. Parents are requested to understand that due to the severe epidemic situation, please note the following during the suspension period (i.e. during extended holidays): 1. Parents should use their children's health as a reason. It is not advisable to send their children back to school during the extended holidays. If necessary, parents can try to negotiate with their employers, ask relatives or friends to help and arrange to take care of their children. 2. Outbound travelers in the holidays are required to return to Hong Kong before 3rd February. If parents and their children have stayed in Mainland China for the past 14 days, they must be isolated at home in 14 days. If they have a fever or other symptoms of discomfort during the period, they must go and see a doctor. According to the guidelines of the Department of Health, if a child has a fever, he or she must be treated by a professional doctor, and is required to stay at home two days after the fever reduction and then go to school. 3. During the suspension period from 5th February, our school premises will remain open and our staff will be on duty. If parents must return their children to school during the suspension period, please note the following: 3.1 The school premises are open from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm; 3.2 Students must be in good health before returning to school; 3.3 Parents must take and pick up their children to and from school by themselves; 3.4 Parents must prepare enough masks and disinfection supplies for their children; 3.5 During the suspension period, parents who bring their children back to school are required to fill in a declaration form indicating whether they have returned to Hong Kong from the Mainland China within the past 14 days, and have contacted those diagnosed or suspected with pneumonia in Wuhan; 3.6 If necessary, parents should arrange for their children to take medicine by themselves. Wish you all a happy Chinese New Year & good health! God bless you! School Office
